While competitors all jostled for elbow room to show how tough and hard-wearing their trail running kit was, we opted to present the Berghaus collection as fast and light. Every elite mountaineer relies on tough equipment, but it’s the feeling of being light and agile that gives them an emotional and physical advantage.

Of course, Berghaus’ Extrem Light range leads the way in durability too, so calling out the Kevlar protection panels wasn’t forgotten about. But the emphasis on fast and light, captured away from a mountain-top, determined a unique creative direction. From the concept movement was the focus. The art direction tested photographer David Clerihew to experiment with techniques to give even the more heroic stationery poses and compositions, an effortlessly light feeling of free movement. This was elegantly presented on a printed zine using lightweight paper stock and translucent materials.
